|
1. The Medical Platoon of the 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry remained at Camp Roberts, Quang Tri Combat Base for the duration of the operation. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
2. The BAS provided medical support for the combat troops of the 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry while maneuver companies rotated into Camp Roberts on maintenance and training missions. In the field they were supported by medical aidmen, four per company, who advised, treated minor problems and who recommended transfer back to Camp Roberts for nine serious reasons. This was usually accomplished with resupply transportation unless it was an emergency. The battalion CP was located at LZ ANNE during this period 9 except during the training cycle0 was furnished with a senior medic. When necessary, depending on the medical problems, patients were further followed at B/75th Medical Company, the 18th Surgical Hospital or the 95th Evaction Hospital at Da Nang. |

3. The following summarizes the casualties of the operation: |

a. 090745H 4 April 1971, one man from HHC 1-11 died of a heart attack from acute alcoholism. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
b. 150500H, April 1971, one man from E 1-11, was killed when a recon team was attacked in their NDP. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
c. 251013H April 1971, one man was killed by friendly artillery fired at a senor activation, individual was providing security for a sensor at the time. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
d. 010800H May 1971, one man was killed when he stepped on an enemy mine while patrol. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
e. 111600H May 1971, two men were killed by an enemy booby trap which was detonated while searching an abandoned house. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
f. 211915H May 1971, one man was killed when he rolled over on an enemy mine in an NDP. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
g. 301115H May 1971, one man drowned while swimming at Wunder Beach. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
h. 301245H May 1971, one man was killed when he stepped on an enemy mine while in a rest stop on patrol. |
|||||||||||||||||
|
i. 051830H June 1971, one man was killed by an explosion, believed to be a US Fragmentation Grenade, while putting out a trash fire near an LZ. |
